So to update...whoever made the summer comment about construction was correct.

While construction doesn't bother me, I think the school has uprooted some sidewalks that were fine before.

Personally I think we need more fountains and some more of those dark brown/wooden over hangs, you know, the ones that when it rains...you still get wet.

newbie post, full of questions... [01 Oct 2006|02:05pm]

hey there,
i'm going to be applying as a transfer student to seu for next fall. i was just wanting to get some feedback from other students that have or have not transferred on how you like the school, campus, etc. anything you could give me would be great. i'm most likely going to be a marketing major and do a minor in photocommunications, sociology, or psyc. if you have any opinions on these programs at seu, if you've taken classes or heard from your friends, i'd love to hear any feedback. and how is dorm life at seu? do you recommend living on campus? or getting an apartment nearby?

thank you so much!

I can't be the only one absolutely hating the new email service, right? It absolutely sucks ass. Too slow, too clunky and moody about connecting.

I miss emu.

Alright, sorry, question about another professor. What have you heard about Medina-Pape, cultural foundation class, women in the arts.

So I lost my flash drive on Wednesday, probably in or near TH 205. Anyone think theres any hope of me finding it again? If anyone was in that room, its bright blue with a light blue ribbon on it. Is there a Lost and Found at school? I'm not like dying kinda worried but it had half of an assignment that I reeaaally don't wanna have to do over again... plus those buggers cost a bit...

And ideas?

Theft [06 Sep 2005|12:31am]

If you guys live on campus make sure you lock your doors. There have been thefts going on lately while people are sleeping in their room. Apparently, it doesn't matter to some people whether or not you're sleeping in the same room they are burglarizing. So please lock your room.

PS: Someone also slashed the tires of all the bikes on the Dujarie bike rack.

Hi everyone.

I just created this LJ account today (I hardly kept up with the others and deleted them.), so as I was looking for communities that might be of interest to me, I found this one on St. Edward's.

I'm a high school senior that's REALLY interested in St. Ed's. (It's like my first choice school.) I think it's a great school - not too big, but one can still do a lot of things on campus. I'm a fan of small schools, so I think it'd be a perfect fit for me. My mom, Godmother, and I drove through the campus on Tuesday and it's stunning. The Main Building is just spectacular.

So I was hoping you guys can tell me what you love about the university and some of the good things about it. I'm hoping to major in English Writing and Rhetoric, so if any of you are majoring in that let me know. Your experiences with the staff and what the best residence halls are would help me a lot too.

I was born with a major leg disability (mild cerebral palsy) so my legs get tired faster than normal and can be a pain when it rains or when the weather gets cold; I also walk with a limp. Because of this, a big concern is the accessibitly around campus. I can still walk, but elevators and short distances can be of great help to me. If some of you could tell what the campus is like to get around that'd be nice.

Also, are freshman allowed to have cars on campus? (If you don't have a car, is it easy to get around the campus and/or around Austin?) And what are the rules for freshman that have jobs? Are they allowed to leave campus when they don't have class?

Sorry for all the questions - it's just that I'm really interested in the unversity and I figure the best answers I can get are from the students themselves.

Thanks all and hopefully one day I can be a true Hilltopper!

Edit// Also, I'm addicted to eBay, so what's the post office like and are they pretty nice to kids who get packages often? I'm a book junkie!

Just in case anyone was wondering... capstone SUCKS. Unless you actually like researching and writing a lot. Which I don't. If theres anyone out there who has already done it, do you have any tips for me on staying sane/not getting overwhelmed by the number of pages?

Cheers.

So, hi all. I'm going to be a Freshman at St. Ed's this upcoming year and sudden loneliness has hit me as I've realized that I know absolutely no one going there. Along that vein, I've decided to try and make some friends who do go there. So yep. Comment in my LJ or IM me or whatev.
